Meet Georgia Attorney Matthew M. McCord

With nearly a decade of litigation experience on both sides of personal injury and criminal cases, I offer clients throughout McDonough, Georgia, and the south side of Atlanta knowledgeable and committed injury and criminal defense representation.
I earned my undergraduate degree at the University of South Carolina and my J.D. from the College of Law at Georgia State University. I began my legal career at the Clayton County Solicitor General's Office, prosecuting misdemeanor cases for two years. From there, I prosecuted felony cases with the Newton County District Attorney's office for another year. After my years as a prosecutor, I worked for an Atlanta firm handling criminal and insurance defense.
Over the course of my career, I have tried cases in almost every major jurisdiction in the state and spent time in every metropolitan county. A seasoned litigator, I have handled over 1,000 bench trials and at least 95 jury trials and have presented on personal injury topics at a trial advocacy seminar for the Georgia State Bar. Additionally, I have conducted an insurance seminar for the State Insurance Commissioner on trial presentation techniques.
I am admitted to practice in all Georgia state courts, and I am member of the Georgia Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the Georgia State Bar Association and the Henry County Bar Association.
